Events Coming Up

May 18-21 Durham - Moogfest

Mission: Grow a global community of futurists who explore emerging sound technologies and design radical instruments for change. We are proud to announce our collaboration this year with DanceGruv Radio at Moogfest in hosting the Music & Tech: Tools to Fight Mass Incarceration panel featuring representatives from Drug Policy Alliance, Building Beats, North Carolina Commission on Racial and Ethnic Disparities in the Criminal Justice System, The Foreign Exchange, Prison Reform Movement & Prison Legal News. We will discuss how music and technology are being used to address, fight, and recover from the devastating impacts of mass incarceration.

May 27-29 Detroit - Movement Festival

Movement Festival 2017 is almost here! Come to our “I Give a Beat” bar by the “Made in Detroit” stage. If you choose to buy your drinks at our bar you will be supporting music and mentoring programs for youth in Los Angeles and Detroit! We will also have Giant Jenga back – a hugely popular event last year and this time with nine artist matches. Sponsor your favorite team today!

August 12-14 – International Youth Day Events

For International Youth Day in August, Give a Beat and partners will host events across the country to raise awareness and funds for mentoring and music programs for youth. Our events are in concert with the United Nations International Youth Day campaign which “aims to remind the public of the importance of youth as a stage in life and it is celebrated all over the world.” With your help we can break the vicious cycle of youth incarceration in our county. Interested in hosting an International Youth Day event? Sign up!
